Meeting OverviewDISC1 is the first high penetrant risk gene for the functional psychoses to be identified. Studies of DISC1 and its associated biological pathways have established a paradigm for how to dissect out and understand the molecular basis of neuropsychiatric disorders in general. These studies have in turn informed our understanding of normal brain development and function. Much of fundamental and novel insight has been gained already from studies of the DISC1 complex. More is promised by ongoing research. The aim of this meeting is to provide an opportunity to share latest findings, discuss and plan future studies and thus push the field forward. | |||||||||||||||||
